The Bell Inn - A Flatcappers Freehouse

The Bell Inn

Welcome to The Bell Inn, a handsome freehouse pub on the outskirts of the pretty village of Rode in Somerset.

Just 5 miles from the quirky town of Frome, 5 miles from Wiltshire's county town of Trowbridge, & 10 miles from the historic city of Bath, The Bell is set in a characterful Grade II-listed building on the busy Frome Rd (A361). Lovingly, sympathetically & imaginatively refurbished in 2009 The Bell has a playful eccentricity that is Cluedo country house meets traditional country pub.

From late morning 'til night, The Bell is at your service, whether for late morning coffee, light lunch, 3-course dinner or just a pint of local beer.

Internally the pub is essentially split into 4 areas with a total of 100 covers. To the right of the entrance is the paneled bar where you'll find oak paneled walls, original tombstone-sized flagstones, an open fireplace &, most importantly, the bar. This room leads into the dining room with it's tobacco coloured walls, taxidermy & hunting prints. To the left of the entrance is the main bar area with its undulating walls, beautiful reclaimed oak floor, & open fireplace. This room leads into the snug with its taxidermy, old gents club paintings, battered old club chairs, & opulent flock wallpaper. The dining furniture throughout is reclaimed & rustic with scrub top tables, chapel chairs, old railway benches & even some Victorian theatre seats.

Externally there is a large, sunny lawned garden with massive flagstone terrace & seating for a further 120 covers.
