Food is major facet of The Castle. However, please don't imagine us to be a gastro pub. By this we simply wish to emphasis that we are not a restaurant masquerading as a pub where the intended use of every table is for dining, with the exception of an 'en suite' bar near the front door, and where you have to spend at least £30 a head or be squashed into a corner should, heaven forbid, you just want a pint of beer. Our approach to dining is simple and informal; we operate a non-reservation policy of first come, first served, you order at the bar, and you can eat wherever you want.

Here at The Castle we serve food that panders to the needs of both the pub traditionalist and modern day foodie. All of our dishes are produced on the premises by proper chefs and the menus are designed to satisfy the smallest to largest of appetites.

Food at The Castle is served everyday from first thing in the morning to last thing at night. From 7.30am 'til Noon we serve a comprehensive breakfast/brunch menu including an inventive vegetarian twist on the Full English.

From Noon 'til 10pm we serve the main menu with its mix of pub 'classics', comfort food and lights bites. And from 6pm the main menu is supplemented by a number of daily changing specials.
